KINGSTON, NY - Ulster County will begin a capital project to replace the roof of the Ulster County Office Building at 244 Fair Street in Kingston. Construction is scheduled to start Monday, October 19, and is expected to last approximately six to eight weeks, weather and site conditions permitting.
During construction, the Fair Street entrance to the parking lot will be closed. All visitors and employees should enter the lot via Main Street. Some parking spaces will also be temporarily unavailable to accommodate construction equipment and ensure public safety.
The project includes replacing roughly 12,600 square feet of gravel‑surfaced, built‑up roofing. Work will involve full removal and disposal of the existing roof system, erection of a stair tower, crane operations, ductwork modifications, and replacement of roof hatches.
Ulster County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this essential infrastructure improvement is completed.
