The Saugerties Fire Department has announced a free and secure app designed to improve communication and emergency response within our community.
Through this program, residents can receive important safety messages, emergency notifications, and weather-related alerts directly from the Saugerties Fire Department, while also having the option to voluntarily provide critical household information such as occupant details (including elderly, children, or individuals with disabilities), pets in the home, and important access or safety notes. This information is only viewable by emergency responders while responding to that specific address, allowing responders to better prepare prior to arrival and improve response effectiveness when seconds matter most.
Clear communication and accurate information are essential to firefighters out on a call. It affect their ability to protect lives and property, and the Fire Department strongly encourage all residents to register.
Install the app on your Apple or Android phone or tablet using this link: https://www.mylocalsafety.com/mylslinks
or the QR code on the left.
(You can also install the app by visiting the Apple App Store or Google Play, and searching for "My Local Safety".)
IMPORTANT: Once the app is installed, you must add the Saugerties Fire Department to the app on your device, using this code:
080237 - SAUGERTIES FIRE DEPT
The following instructions are for anyone who has installed the MyLS app on their Apple or Android phone, and who needs to now 1)add the Saugerties Fire Department as an entry to the app (to make it useful in Saugerties) and 2) provide information about your home, proximity to the nearest fire hydrant, etc..
A final, critical step for the usefulness of the My Local Safety (MyLS) app is to add information to the app about your home, proximity to the nearest fire hydrant ... so that in the event of an emergency, the Fire Department will have information immediately at hand, and can operate optimally.
