Biography Stephanie Bassler is an architect and Passive House energy efficiency consultant specializing in sustainable land use and building design. A 20-year Saugerties resident, she lives with her husband and two sons and owns a local business. Before her election to Town Board, Stephanie advised the Town on its Downtown Revitalization Grant application and co-organized Balanced Growth Community Conversations and annual Earth Day cleanups. She serves on the board of Phius Alliance New York, promoting Passive House solutions, and contributes to regional policy work in sustainability and housing, including Ulster County's Circular Economy Strategy, and affordable green housing in NYS.
Stephanie served on the Town Comprehensive Planning Committee in 2025. As a candidate for Town Board, Stephanie was endorsed by Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger, Planned Parenthood of Greater NY and the Upper Hudson Central Labor Council.
Stephanie was elected to her first term as a Town of Saugerties board member in November 2025. She was sworn into office on January 1, 2026.
