Message from NY State DOT - Sidewalk/Ramps Work Along 9W - April into June

ADA-Compliant Ramp and Sidewalk Work Upcoming (Week of April 7 to Early June) - Be Aware and Watch Out for Flaggers During This Period

APRIL-MAY-JUNE 2026 SIDEWALK WORK - MAP A - SAWYERKILL TERRACE TO JANE STREET copy.pngReplacing critical infrastructure and ensuring the safety of the traveling public is of the utmost importance and the project along U.S. Route 9W in the Town of Saugerties to improve resiliency is anticipated to begin the week of April 6.

The project will install ADA-compliant ramps and sidewalks along U.S. Route 9W in the following stretches:

  • Between Sawyer Kill Terrace and Jane Street (see MAP A below)
  • Between Montgomery Street and Allen St and (see MAP B below)
  • Between Ann Street and Burt Street (see MAP C below)

Work is anticipated to take approximately 2 months, weather permitting, so figure into early June. Access to properties will be maintained for residents
and businesses.

As with all work zones, please slow down and pay attention to all signage and instructions, including flaggers.  As we move forward with this project, we will keep local officials and stakeholders up to date via email updates.
