Saugerties Public Library, 91 Washington Avenue
Join us as we re-examine the local legacy of renowned sculptor, educator, and artist-activist Augusta Savage (1945–1961). Grounded in new historical research, this talk challenges the traditional narrative of an obscure retreat—revealing a deliberate continuation of her creative and civic practice right here in Ulster County. Presented by Dr. La Tasha A. Brown: public historian, researcher, cultural sector leader, and Visiting Scholar at the State University of New York at New Paltz.
