Choosing Sides: Ulster County During the American Revolution

May 13, 2026, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Saugerties Public Library, 91 Washington Avenue.

Ulster County Historian Eddie Moran will explore the Revolution as both a war for independence and a civil war, and examine how Ulster County’s diverse inhabitants—Lenape Native communities, European men and women, and enslaved and free Africans—experienced the conflict and were forced to make difficult choices about loyalty, survival, and freedom.

The Carnegie Corporation of New York has gifted the Saugerties Library with $10,000 in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
