Earth Day Action: Act Local, Small Steps, Big Impact - Part of Saugerties Earth Day Week

Apr 22, 2026, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Orpheum Theater, 156 Main Street

This will kick-off with the classic short The Story of Stuff, Annie Leonard’s seminal video about consumption released in 2007, instantly became a viral hit, inspiring a book, in-depth website, and a series of videos and campaigns that fuel a movement for social change.

A lively panel including Executive Director of UCCRA Marc Rider, the founding Executive Director of Sustainable Hudson Valley Melissa Everett, and our legislator on the Ulster County Energy, Environment and Sustainability committee Ann Peters will follow.  All are excited to talk about the tools we already have in place for a sustainable circular economy and where we can be headed. Come with your contributions to conversation!

The evening will include entertainment by local poets for when things get too in the weeds!

Organized by Saugerties Earth Day Week Collaborative www.saugertiesearthdayweek.org with support from Sustainable Hudson Valley, Riverkeeper, Saugerties Village Tree Commission, Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency, Saugerties Conservation Advisory Commission (CAC)
